ForesteHolmes is a Prescott AZ licensed residential contractor specializing in building green, energy and resource efficient custom homes to the high-performance standards of the 21st century.

• ForesteHolmes was formed in 2006 in response to a demand in the Prescott area for a general contractor with the knowledge and skills for constructing progressive, high-performance custom homes
• We construct attractive homes of all sizes and styles that meet or exceed performance standards set for energy efficiency, resource efficiency, water efficiency, and indoor air quality
• ForesteHolmes is an approved builder in the EPA Energy Star and DOE Builder’s Challenge programs, and is a certified contractor in the EPA Indoor AirPlus program
• ForesteHolmes management has a lifetime of construction experience and 15 years of Prescott-area residential construction experience
• We maintain excellent professional relationships with Prescott area architects and established trade subcontractors

Kurt Holmes – Owner & Operations Manager

As the Owner and Operations Manager, Kurt is the client’s primary contact for all of the design, bidding, and construction phases. Kurt has experience and up-to-date training achieved, in part, through these previous local employers:

• Specialist in instructing students in green-building skills and coordinating day-to-day construction activities on award-winning homes built as a part of the Yavapai College Residential Building Technology Program (2000-2005)
• Partner in Shelter from the Storm, general contractor for constructing custom homes in the Prescott area (2000 – 2005)

ForesteHolmes management and jobsite personnel routinely receive refresher training (e.g., APS Energy Star Homes Program) in construction techniques that enhance a home’s performance. Thus, our clients can be assured that their home is being built to performance standards that equate to energy savings, durability, comfort, and a healthy indoor environment.

Our Connection to Yavapai College

ForesteHolmes professional management has deep roots in the award-winning Yavapai College Residential Building Technology (RBT) Program. This connection includes having completed the RBT degree program courses and employment in association with constructing the RBT “College Houses” program. The RBT program has been very influential in the Prescott area in advancing home-performance certifications and instructing construction professionals as well as the community in general in the elements in what is considered green building. The philosophy of the RBT program, (i.e., high-performance construction resulting from merging building science with green building), has also been very influential on the ForesteHolmes approach to construction.

Tony Grahame, former director (1996-2010) of the YC RBT program and construction business partner with Kurt Holmes, is an exclusive consultant to ForesteHolmes:

• National trainer for Building Knowledge Inc. , green building and building science principles
